- Shepard Fairey's "Hop" campaign is a subject for debate among copyright lawyers because, his photo is almost exact to Mannie Garcia's photo; which Garcia took while on assignment for the associated press in 2006.
- Mannie Garcia is a photojournalist and is connected to the "Hope" campaign, because provided photos and posters for billboards, museum halls and t shirts.
- Mr. Garcia did not immediately recognize his photo because it's normal, in the business since no one would remember every single photo they take.
- It illustrates the news photographs because the picture represented the president’s response to a disaster which caused outrage in many people.
- If there was no hope campaign I don’t think that Fairy’s work would be found, in museums since that are the only majorly famous photo he's taken.
